Why Books Are the Perfect Gifts
“A book is a gift you can open again and again.” — Garrison Keillor
Paper Leaves found that the best way to start the fall season was by gifting over 200 books to Waxahachie families in our local community at Waxahachie’s 4th Annual Family Day Festival. This event was the perfect way to kickstart fall with a Dance Party, giant bounce houses, corn hole, food trucks, face painting, and more.
We just wanted to thank everyone who came out and grabbed their free book. Your participation in this event was not just a fun day out, but a significant contribution to our Greater Literacy Foundation and the community. We're proud of what we achieved together at the Waxahachie Family Day festivities, and we couldn't have done it without you.
But giving books as gifts does not have to stop at Family Day! For many readers, the best gift you can receive is a book. The joy of unwrapping a book, knowing that it holds a new world to explore, is unparalleled. It is the most thoughtful gift that does not aim to accessorize or embellish but rather to create. Books allow you to create a new world in your mind that you can love and cherish forever. When someone buys me a book, it shows that they know enough about me to care about what I would want as a gift.
After all, to be loved is to be known, and nothing shows love more than giving someone a book that will stay on their shelf for years, reminding them of the thoughtful gift you gave them. The lasting impact of a gifted book is a testament to the power of literature and the love it can inspire.
